Crew of M/V Cymona Eagle Performs Rescue at Sea

🛳️ Heroic Rescue at Sea – Well Done to the Crew of MV Cymona Eagle!

We are incredibly proud to extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to the Master and Crew of MV Cymona Eagle for their exceptional seamanship and outstanding efforts in rescuing a sole rower, Mr. Jari Saario, from a sinking craft over the weekend.

On Friday night, while enroute across the South Atlantic, our crew received a distress call from MRCC Cape Town. After promptly informing the vessel’s Owners and our Charterers Quadra Commodities, the Cymona Eagle positively responded and altered course toward the reported position.
The vessel arrived at the distress location just after midnight on Saturday.

Despite rough weather and challenging conditions, our team expertly came alongside the life raft and successfully brought the survivor safely onboard, where he received immediate medical attention.

Throughout the operation, we maintained close communication with our crew, medical personnel, and relevant authorities — a testament to coordination, professionalism, and dedication in action.

Most seafarers are fortunate not to encounter distress situations like this often — but thanks to regular training and preparedness, our team was ready when every second counted.

We are deeply grateful for the quick thinking and courageous actions of the Cymona Eagle crew, and we also acknowledge the invaluable support provided by our Charterers and the relevant authorities.

The MV Cymona Eagle is now proceeding to the nearest port where
Mr. Saario will disembark and continue his journey on land. Until that time, we will safeguard his privacy and wellbeing as if he were one of our own. As always, our focus remains on the Safety and Health for all persons onboard our vessels.
